Stonewood undertakes quality building in traditional materials. Stonewood has at its disposal a wealth of experience in working with rubble stone on Cotswold style cottages, hand made bricks on houses to the south of Wiltshire, Bath stone ashlar buildings, oak timber framing and more. Stonewood combines knowledge and skill to produce the sympathetic but detailed approach required to match the original integrity and conservation of a building with modern standards complying to current Building Regulations.
Carpentry
Stonewood employs a team of highly skilled carpenters. The gang includes time served tradesmen and carpenters trained and qualified through the college and workplace based NVQ system. Skills include oak timber framing, cut roofs, hardwood flooring, bespoke joinery, built in furniture, kitchens and fitting out. Having worked extensively on historic properties, Stonewood’s carpenters have an appreciation of restoring carpentry details to their former glories.
Roofing
Stonewood employs experienced tradesmen, enabling us to carry out roofing works in the traditional manner. We have in-house carpenters to carry out detailed timber repairs, decking and new cut roofs, and skilled roofers experienced in most types of roofing, including the art of stone tiling.
Plastering
Stonewood employs both direct and subcontract men to carry out all plastering work, from modern plastering methods, traditional lime render and detailed cornicing to cutting edge silicon based render products. Stonewood are familiar and proficient at getting the right job done.

Stonewood employs a network of subcontract tradesmen to cover all specialist areas of the building project. From highly technical plumbing and heating systems to intelligence wiring packages, major ground works to exacting detailed finishes, Stonewood has the people and contacts to ensure a first class job is delivered.
