"..Charming, amusing and entertaining. They were always very flexible and keen to come up with ideas, if required, to change specifications. Overall the building project was a complete pleasure – very good fun. Stonewood – with a team led by Matt Aitkenhead, were a first class partner in the building of your huge Pool House, restoring the Coach House and the numerous other projects we did together."

Mark Preston, Langley House, Langley Burrell

This extensive project encompassed alternations and repairs to a Grade II listed Georgian 9 bedroom House and subsequent projects including the restoration of a listed Coach House, building of a Pool House and the conversion of dilapidated buildings into a gymnasium and plant rooms to complete this stunning leisure facility.

"Langley House was a most rewarding and challenging project. Working on and in the curtilage of such a fine building requires an appreciation of the impact of every aspect of the works. I am proud that we were able to restore existing historic buildings whilst constructing new structures that sit timelessly in their surroundings.

"Restoring a Grade II listed building that had seen little maintenance for many hundreds of years, was the perfect project for our skilled Craftsmen. Demonstrating our skill and prowess to the Conservation Officer is vital in a project such as this and the combined knowledge and experience within the Stonewood team is fundamental in achieving this. We were able to gain the trust of the Conservation Officer early in the contract, enabling smooth progress and ultimately achieving a most sympathetic restoration.

"Our knowledge of the local market enabled us to source the reclaimed materials required to achieve high quality construction throughout; and this, together with our understanding of the more technical, contemporary elements of the build, enabled close and successful management of the specialist trades to achieve the results desired."

Matt Aitkenhead, Stonewood Managing Director
