Wear a Hat Day and Walk of Hope
On the 25th and 26th March, we raised money for Brain Tumour Research through ‘Wear a Hat Day’ and ‘Walk of Hope’. It was great to dedicate these two days to raising money and awareness for our 2020-2022 chosen charity.
We sold Stonewood & Brain Tumour Research branded hats for £10 a hat with all proceeds being donated. We sold these hats across all of our divisions and offices and had a great response with staff buying them for the whole family. On 25th March, ‘Wear a Hat Day’ took place and it was great to see the staff getting involved with hats of every kind from sombreros to bobble hats. Shane Andrews from Earthstone Construction put extra effort in, combining a scarf into his attire. It was also great to have Orlando Bailey and Laurie Canter involved too with Laurie taking his hat international at the Qatar Masters!
The ‘Walk of Hope’ took place the following day on the hottest day of the year so far! This event first took place last year and it was a lovely occasion to get staff, friends and family together for a 5km walk from our Castle Combe office. Everyone returned to the office with large appetites and hot dogs and cold drinks were served whilst we lapped up the sunshine. It was nice to get together outside of the office whilst raising money for an incredible charity.
Through the success of both of these events, we are delighted to share that we raised a total of £1,700 for Brain Tumour Research. We are thrilled that we can support the vital work that they are doing, and we look forward to supporting them further throughout the year.
