This new build house was constructed on the site of a previous dwelling which had reached the end of it’s useful life and been demolished. The client was keen to use traditional design features and local materials to ensure that the house blends seamlessly into it’s surroundings as it begins to weather and age. These included locally quarried Lias stone, traditional timber joinery and Blue Lias stone flooring. However, a non-traditional approach was taken to the structure of the building, with on-site timber frame construction being chosen over traditional brick & block, allowing for greater flexibility in construction and high levels of insulation.
The property has been fitted out with the highest specification finishes, including bespoke joinery commissioned directly from local craftspeople.
