Wraxall Yard

Wraxall Yard, a thoughtfully restored dairy farm in Dorset, offers inclusive holiday accommodation, a community space, workshops, and an educational smallholding. Set within a 250-acre organic farm in the West Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), the site is currently transitioning to a regenerative agricultural system. Stonewood undertook the full refurbishment and conversion of this prestigious project, collaborating closely with award-winning architects Clementine Blakemore.

The project aimed to provide exceptional standards of accessibility and sustainability while preserving the historic and agricultural charm of the original buildings. With a commitment to allowing everyone the opportunity to engage with farming and wildlife, the renovation transformed a derelict site into a vibrant community hub. In 2024, Wraxall Yard received a RIBA South West Award and was shortlisted for both the RIBA Stirling Prize and Stephen Lawrence Prize, ultimately winning the latter.
