As I’m sure you will appreciate, we as architects ‘experience’ a wide selection of contractors of varying scales (and abilities); with the refurbishment of our offices here in Bath it was an absolute joy to work with Stonewood; the effort, dedication and support given by the team was incredible. In my own experience, I have never worked with a more dedicated building team so obviously and explicitly focused on problem solving. Their ‘can-do’ attitude on site was extremely refreshing and the transparency and openness of their working practices was a breath of fresh air.
But no matter, from the very start the Stonewood team took the time to talk Anna and I through all the decisions that need to be made when creating your dream home. They also held our hands through the initial shock of demolishing our home in order to rebuild it! All the tough decisions (and monthly invoices) now seem long long ago as we wake up every morning to the most fantastic home. A year in and we still look around the house and feel so lucky to enjoy the fantastic environment created by the Stonewood team
Combining modern sustainable technologies with a sympathetic conversion of an old building can be extremely tricky, but the Stonewood team really embraced the challenges it set. Although they had some experience of these types of technologies already, they were very open to learning more and worked closely with the specialist sub-contractors to deliver what the client was looking for.
